Doug Marks: The first thing I noticed about Dan when he began recording for Metal Method was his amazing sweep technique. These aren't just six-string arps. Instead, these are an amazing variety of techniques that easily translates to all styles of music.
We were so fascinated with Dan's ability to sweep that we ended up recording three different sweep lessons. Needless to say, sections of each program were redundant.
For example, with each new program he still needed to show the basics and intermediate tricks. So, in 2018 he created Sweep Picking Mastery for Guitar to replace everything that had previously been created. Wow! This is such a great lesson. You're going to love it.

Nobody takes classical music and translates it to modern shred guitar like Dan Mumm. Don't even attempt to play neo-classical shred without spending some time with these compositions. You don't need to master it all to experience the deep influences shared by Yngwie, Batio, and Mumm. Very cool.

Doug Marks: Since 2010, this has been called Fret Touch Mechanics. I dreamed up the title. It sounded cool and Dan went along with it. Problem is, exactly what does that mean? Recently I decided to rename it Two-Hand Tapping for Shred Guitar. Something can be said for the value of a simpe, accurate description. This title actually describes the lesson. You've seen Dan play so I'm not even going to say any more about this program other than it's absolutely essential for learning shred guitar.
